Houston Community College offers a GED training program in partnership with the Accelerate Texas initiative. Participants in the Accelerate Texas program will complete a GED after taking prep courses in the five subjects and work readiness skills. Besides the GED, graduates will also receive a certificate to show they are trained and work-ready.

The Mexican Institute of Greater Houston offers a wide range of workforce training programs designed to give students a better grasp of the modern workplace. Classes are focused on computer skills, but now that the GED is computerized, they also offer a GED course. This allows students to get lessons and computer experience to help them pass.

The Houston Can! Academy is part of the Texas Can charter school network. Primarily serving youths, the Houston! Can Academy offers workforce training and transitional programs to move students into careers after graduation. This includes the GED preparation course, which allows students to take the exam with confidence.

La Raza United provides a number of adult education courses for the Spanish-speaking community in Houston, though classes are open to all students. The GED test prep program is offered on Monday and Wednesday from 6 PM to 8 PM or Friday from 9 AM to 1 PM.

The Because Houston Loves You program offers adult education in literacy and healthcare services through the Health and Human Services Academy. Originally a standalone program, Because Houston Loves You has teamed up with the Health and Human Services Academy to provide more comprehensive services to students.
