Abram Friedman Occupational Center

The Abram Friedman Occupational Center is a community service center based in the Belmont Service Area. It offers a number of career services and adult education programs. The GED test prep program is offered through the alternative education and work center, where applicants must be at least 16 or 17 years old. Students are assigned courses based on their transcripts and abilities.

They offer adult literacy services to improve reading and literacy skills, as well as a GED test prep class. The library also offers an online learning initiative for students to complete a high school credential. This credential is not the GED however.

The Centro Latino for Literacy focuses primarily on serving the Latino community in Downtown Los Angeles by providing English as a Second Language classes and job readiness skills. They offer basic literacy lessons as well as instruction in math and financial planning.
